Mission

The Right to Repair Campaign (R2RC) is the response of the independent repairers of motor vehicles to the activity of the Vehicle Assemblers who are actively lobbying for legislation in Europe that would drive repair work into their franchised dealerships.

Right to Repair Campaigners Delight with Mechanex PDF Print E-mail

We are are delighted with the response to the Campaign from visitors and exhibitors at the recent Mechanex show at Sandown Park.

‘Mechanex was the first public opportunity to tell independent garages about the Campaign’, said Jim Mazza, UK R2RC Chairman, ‘and we were extremely pleased with the positive reaction from the visitors to our stand. Fellow exhibitors were also extremely supportive of the campaign’s aims.’

The Right to Repair Campaign has been created by the independent aftermarket for motor vehicles to fight to protect motorists’ right to choose where to have their vehicles serviced or repaired.  The EU legislation which grants this right expires in 2010; unless it is renewed, the future of independent service or repair outlets for all types of vehicle will be at risk.

The Campaign launched in the UK on 30 October 2007 used Mechanex for the first public display of the threat to the independent aftermarket. Several hundred people visited its stand during the two-day show.
 

We also attended the Autosport and Aftermarket show at Birmingham’s NEC and is attending the Mechanex show at Donnington on 21st and 22nd February 2008.
